Integration marks the 20th anniversary of TSEKH Gallery, one of Kyiv’s leading spaces for contemporary art, and is presented in the showroom of Luisa Catucci Gallery in Berlin-Mitte.
This exhibition brings together four distinguished Ukrainian artists—Mykola Bilous, Ievgen Petrov, Rustam Mirzoev, and Yaroslav Derkach—each with a distinct visual language rooted in contemporary painting and object-based practices. Their works reflect the vitality of Ukraine’s art scene, which continues to evolve and assert its voice despite the ongoing war and social instability.
Mykola Bilous stands out for his vibrant use of color and his signature inversion technique, which has become a hallmark of his visual identity. His paintings, both immediate and conceptual, offer striking chromatic experiences that challenge perception.
Rustam Mirzoev explores psychological states through tactile, often minimal compositions. His work balances material presence with emotional intensity, creating quiet yet powerful visual meditations.
Yaroslav Derkach draws on the vocabulary of abstraction to express tension, resilience, and transformation. His dynamic forms and bold gestures reflect the complexities of a world in flux.
The exhibition also features a focused presentation of Ievgen Petrov’s latest series, dedicated to the city of Venice. Conceived during wartime while the artist remained in Odesa, this deeply personal and emotionally resonant body of work has never before been exhibited. Venice—long present in Petrov’s imagination—emerges as a place of memory, distance, and longing. The presentation also marks his first solo show in Germany, a significant moment in his international career.
Integration reflects not only the enduring strength of TSEKH Gallery’s vision over the past two decades but also the ongoing relevance and resilience of Ukrainian contemporary art in a time of profound historical urgency.
