Artist Residency

We are calling all artists seeking opportunities within the Berlin art scene!  Luisa Catucci Gallery is launching its exclusive Artists in Residency program. This unique opportunity allows up to two artsits at the time to live and work for two months at LC Art Lab, the gallery’s studios located in the picturesque Schillerkiez area of Berlin-Neukölln, just steps away from the famous Tempelhofer Feld.

RESIDENCY PURPOSE: The primary goal of the residency is to introduce the artists to the Berlin art scene and curate an exhibition that highlights their work. This showcase will be held in the main room of the Luisa Catucci Art Lab in Berlin Neukölln during the final week of the residency. The event will feature Open Studios and an Artist Talk, offering LCG collectors and the audience an in-depth look at the artists’s talents. RESIDENCY PROGRAM: The program provides participants with personalized one-on-one attention and professional support, encompassing networking, production, and presentation of their work. It includes: – Artist Profile on our website – Portfolio reading with our gallery director – Critical text by one of our curators – Support and assistance in writing an artist statement and biography – Interview with one of our professional crew members – Artist portrait photo shooting – Weekly visit and critique with our resident curator – Invitations to exclusive private events at the gallery that may occur during the residency – Regular updates about art events and openings in the city – A minimum of 2 tour visits per month with the gallery’s team to galleries and museums – Information and advice about professional artist materials and supplies – Concluding exhibition, complemented by open studios and an artist talk, on the last weekend of the residency FEES: This residency program operates on a paid basis, requiring artists to cover the associated costs. Artists interested in our Berlin Artist Residency Program are encouraged to seek funding from sponsors or subsidizing organizations well in advance. Cost per attendant:  € 1400/Month Included in the monthly fees: – Furnished room in our Art Lab space – Shared use of the 50 sqm Studio Room – Residency program – Use of the common bathroom (with bathtub/shower) and kitchenette – Written interview for the artist to use as liked and published on our website – Technical and curatorial support, when possible – Internet – Weekly cleaning of the common spaces – 2 towel sets and bed sheet sets per artist Extras, non-mandatory: – Video interview for the artist to use as liked and published on our website: €300 – Analysis of the artist’s website and contents: €200 – Instagram Workshop: €200 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS VISA: After being selected and after the formalization of the Agreement, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance signed by our gallery director. Artists interested in our Berlin Artist Residency Program are advised to seek funding in advance from sponsors/subsidizing organizations. HERE a link with a list of funding opportunities. MATERIALS: Artists have to purchase their own art material. LCG can provide tools such as drill, jig saw, electric screwdriver, levelers, screws, nails, measuring tape, and more. STUDIOS: LCG offers two private bedrooms, a common workshop to live and work, a shared bathroom and a kitchenette. ARTISTIC DUO: Artistic duo can apply only for one project as a duo. They both share one room and are required to pay one extra fee of 200 ‎€/month. ADDITIONAL PERSON OR PET: You are welcome to bring guests during the day but overnight guests are not allowed. Our premises are meant for the exact number of resident artists, therefore having overnight generates co-living difficulties which we would like to avoid. Partners, children, or pets are not allowed during your stay in the residency and cannot participate in the program with you. TRAVEL: Our residency program necessitates a weekly commitment. We recommend aligning your travel plans exclusively with the program’s obligations and activities. Please note that LCG does not cover travel expenses. INSURANCE: LCG does not provide coverage for accident insurance and disclaims any responsibility for accidents or damages caused by the Artist(s) to themselves, others, or the space. It is the Artist(s)’s responsibility to secure their own accident insurance coverage. LCG does not offer health insurance coverage, and is not responsible for the health of the attendant. Therefore, it is the Artist(s)’s responsibility to manage their own healthcare needs. DISCLAIMER: Luisa Catucci Gallery emphasizes openness, respect, and international exchange.
