The essence of civilization has never been an isolated entity but a vast expanse where many streams converge, a harmonious symphony in diversity. As curator of the 2nd Symphony of Civilizations International Art Exhibition, I am honored to write the preface for this catalogue, showcasing the artistic achievements of artists from various countries, and to celebrate the unifying power of art that transcends borders.

Albania and China share a long history of friendship, grounded in the belief that equality, mutual respect, and cultural exchange are essential for the harmonious coexistence of civilizations. Art, as a universal language, bridges national, linguistic, and cultural divides, allowing the artistic expressions of the East to meet the Mediterranean’s light and shadow, the Balkan Peninsula’s heritage to resonate with China’s ancient culture, and the spiritual cores of different civilizations to engage in meaningful dialogue.

This is the true value of the Symphony of Civilizations International Art Exhibition. It not only showcases diverse creations from artists worldwide, but also brings together diplomats from many countries, turning the event into an international platform for cultural exchange that blends artistic sophistication with diplomatic warmth. The participation of diplomats enriches the exhibition, transforming it from a display of works to a space of cross-civilization interaction and mutual understanding.

In today’s era of rapid globalization, these exchanges are more valuable than ever. While division and prejudice can still arise, this gathering, united by art, shatters the myth of the “clash of civilizations.” Artists and participants from different cultures are like voices in a symphony, with no hierarchy, only the beauty of complementarity. Each work reflects both local heritage and universal human values, deepening mutual respect and understanding between civilizations.
